In a time before cell phones, pagers, and the Blackberry a man's most important possession he carried was his watch. From complex engraved cases with intricate movements to simple metal cases and mechanics that 'lost' a few minutes throughout the day, the pocket watch was the must have accessory of it's day. As watch making advanced, wrist watches eventually displaced pocket watches and many more women began to wear them, adorned with precious stones and fine metals.
